Liebe MitGeeks,
Genau so funktioniert Romance Scam.
Fake Liebe. Echter Schaden.
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/h0LUL5g6RLc
Also: weiter daten. Weiter chatten. Weiter nach deinem Player Two suchen.
Happy Dating!

Dear Fellow Geeks,
everything feels almost too good to be true.
Out of nowhere, this amazing gamer girl is into you. She gets your jokes, loves your favorite games, and suddenly your chat feels like the start of a legendary co-op campaign.
Then comes the plot twist.
She needs help. Not advice. Not emotional support.
Money.
Maybe it’s crypto. Maybe Steam credit, Play Store credit, gift cards, PayPal, or just a “quick transfer until tomorrow”.
The story changes.
The goal does not.
She wants you to pay.
And because you care, because you want this to be real, your brain starts making excuses:
“She seems genuine.”
“It’s only once.”
“What if she really needs me?”
That’s how romance scams work.
Fake love. Real damage.
Romance scammers use attention, affection, loneliness, hope, and trust as weapons. They make you feel special — then turn that feeling into pressure.
And yes, this can happen to smart people.
It has nothing to do with being stupid. It has everything to do with being human.
At g33kdating, we manually review new profiles, profile photos, and profile text changes before they go live. But some scams only become obvious once a private chat has already started.
That’s why we need your reports too.
The golden rule
Never send money, gift cards, Steam cards, app credit, crypto, or anything similar to someone you only know online.
Not “just this once”.
Not because they promise to pay it back.
Not because they say they love you.
Real love does not start with a payment request.
One red flag might not prove anything.
Several red flags together? Stop and think.
If something feels off
Report the profile to us.
No shame. No judgment.
Scammers are professionals at emotional manipulation. Their whole strategy is built around making you ignore your instincts.
It takes less than a minute and might save you from a very expensive mistake.
Keep dating. Keep chatting. Keep looking for your player two.
Just remember:
If someone asks for money before you’ve even met in real life, it’s not romance.
It’s a scam.
Happy Dating!
