we did a little "spring cleaning" on the website and the interface and hope to make your website experience a little better *g

Here is the list of improvements and changes:

(✿ ♥‿♥) You can now sort your searches by "Distance" as well (besides latest activity, matches etc).

(✿ ♥‿♥) "Geeks of the Week" now has the prime spot on the top of the page, making your profile stand out even more!

(✿ ♥‿♥) Cleaned up the tabs on top of the page too, now only showing the most popular items. User Blogs have been moved to the bottom page, same for the Affiliate program.

(✿ ♥‿♥) "Explorer Mode" and "My Matches" switch places, while the popular FAQ Link gets his prime spot on the left now with an own widget.

(✿ ♥‿♥) Updated the FAQ too, especially giving more instructions on the new picture rules.

Heute wollen wir nächsten, logischen Schritt mit dir machen, um deine Dating-Chancen zu erhöhen: Die g33kdating Qualitätsoffensive beginnt!

(ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ Ab sofort werden wir alle neuen Profile manuell überprüfen, auch alle Profil-Bearbeitungen werden überprüft.

(ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ Es werden nun alle (!) Bilder manuell überprüft, also auch die Avatare (= Profilbilder)

Wir hoffen, dass dadurch die Qualität der Profile bei g33kdating steigt und du so mehr Chancen hast, deinen Traum-Geek zu finden.

Bei den Profil-Texten werden wir überprüfen, ob es Verstöße gegen unsere AGB gibt und entsprechend handeln. Die neue Regel bezüglich Avatar-Bilder ist ganz einfach: Es muss dich zeigen.

Wir werden auch alle existierenden Profile bzgl. der neuen Regeln überprüfen. Aufgrund der großen Anzahl, wird das aber wohl etwas dauern. Danke für eure Geduld.

Das bedeutet natürlich auch für uns eine Menge Arbeit, daher haben wir bereits das Support-Team aufgestockt und unsere Prozesse optimiert. Wir gehen davon aus, dass wir Profile & Bilder innerhalb von 24 Stunden freischalten, manchmal auch bis zu 48 Stunden (zB Feiertage).

Concerning the profil-text, we will check if there are any violations of our terms of use and act accordingly.The new rule of avatar-pictures (= your profile picture) is quite simple: It has to show you.

We will also start to review existing profiles to check if they follow the new guidelines. Considering the amount of profiles, this will take quite some time. Thank you for your patience.

This will put quite a new workload on our shoulders, therefore we have increased our support team and improved our processes. We expect that we can approve all new pictures and profiles within 24 hours, 48 hours if there are holidays.

der Ersteindruck entscheidet, sowohl offline als auch online! Dein Profil-Text ist dein Aushängeschild, überlege dir also gut, wie dein Profiltext auf jemanden wirkt, der dich überhaupt nicht kennt.

Leider muss ich immer wieder Profil-Texte lesen, die sich offensichtlich wenig Mühe gegeben haben... und die dann natürlich auch wenig Chancen haben, erfolgreich zu sein. Also hab ich heute mal mein persönliches Highlight der größten Profil-Text-Fails zusammengestellt *g

Gold geht an: Das leere Profil

Interessiert niemanden und wird von den meisten "schneller als der eigene Schatten" weg geklickt. Zu Recht.

Silber geht an: Finde es heraus!

Gäääähn! Hat nie funktioniert, wird nie funktionieren. Wenn du denkst, du kannst damit umgehen, ein interessantes und ansprechendes Profil zu erstellen, muss ich dich leider enttäuschen *g

Bronze geht an: Keine Ahnung

Tja, was soll man da drauf sagen? Richtig, gar nichts.. und klickt weiter...

Folgende "Mitbewerber" hätten es beinahe auf das Podest geschafft:

g33kdating ist ab 18 Jahre, insofern sind wir hier echt nicht verklemmt und lassen viel durchgehen. Wenn dein Ersteindruck wirklich sofort deine sexuellen Vorlieben sein müssen, bitte. Überlege dir aber, ob du da nicht auf anderen Seiten vielleicht besser aufgehoben bist? Gibt ja genug davon. Bitte spar dir auch deine komplette Hentai-Sammlung hochzuladen, das ist zusätzlich meistens auch eine Copyright-Verstoß. Ausschlusslisten ala "du darfst auf keinen Fall XYZ sein/mögen" wirken hingegen sehr verbohrt. Jeder mit etwas Erfahrung in Beziehungen weiß, es kommt darauf an die Gemeinsamkeiten zu stärken, als sich auf die Gegensätze zu konzentrieren. "Du musst PC-Spieler sein, Konsole kommt mir nicht ins Haus" - "Star Wars ist harter fail, nur Star Trek zählt" - "Wer kein Warhammer mag, braucht mich gar nicht anschreiben" - "Ich höre nur Metal, wenn dir das nicht passt, haben wir ein Problem" usw. 

Auch wenn die Geek-Leidenschaft berechtigt sein mag, klingt das nicht sehr sympathisch, oder?
